About us

Caterpillars Preschool (formerly Paulett's Lane Preschool) has been operating from Calmore Infant School since November 1999.

We are run by a group of Parents who make up The Preschool Committee.

We are registered with OFSTED and can take up to 48 children at each session.We welcome children of all abilities and are able to offer extra support to children with additional needs.
We are members of the Early Years Alliance.We aim to care for your child in a safe and stimulating environment, offering them activities to enhance their development following the Foundation Stage of Learning.

We organise a curriculum covering the seven areas of learning. We use a key-person system to ensure that each child gets the individual attention he or she deserves.

We welcome parent/carer help on committee, on the helpers rota or in any other way you are willing to offer.

Caterpillars Preschool is registered with Hampshire County Council as an Early Years Education provider.You are entitled to claim up to 15 funded hours per week, from the term following your child’s 3rd birthday, unless you are entitled to 2 year old funding. Some working families are able to claim up to 30 funded hours per week.All other sessions are charged at £6.00 per hour and are payable per half-term or weekly by arrangement with the Manager.
